from the latest 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K eventsIZEA Worldwide is a technology-enabled influencer marketing company that delivers creator economy solutions to enterprise brands and agencies through managed services supported by its proprietary ZED platform.
What they do
IZEA manages custom content workflows, creator discovery and targeting, campaign execution, analytics, and payment processing for marketers. It compensates creators for producing content such as long and short-form text, videos, photos, status updates, and illustrations, distributed through websites, blogs, and social channels. The company was founded in February 2006 as PayPerPost, became public in May 2011, and operates through IZEA Canada, Inc. as a wholly-owned subsidiary.
Revenue drivers
- Agency Services (Managed Services) — The primary offering; IZEA partners with marketers to develop and execute influencer marketing campaigns including creator strategy, creator partnerships, creator content, performance media, and social commerce. Historically, Managed Services have accounted for substantially all revenue.
- Creator Technologies — Proprietary AI-incorporating platforms that support creator campaign management, relationships, and transactions. Primarily used to deliver managed services and internal operations, with customers sometimes given access in connection with managed service engagements; standalone subscription offerings are no longer the focus.
- Creator Marketplace Capabilities — Platform capabilities that facilitate discovery, engagement, and collaboration between marketers and creators. Most marketers engage IZEA for managed services, though they may also access these platform capabilities directly.
Recent performance
Q2 2026 revenue was $5.8 million, down $3.3 million (36%) from $9.1 million in Q2 2025, attributed to the enterprise-focused transition, softer enterprise demand, and campaign timing. Managed Services bookings declined 19% to $4.5 million. Total costs and expenses fell 18% to $6.9 million, and net loss was $0.7 million, or $(0.04) per share, versus net income of $1.2 million, or $0.07 per share, a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA was $(0.4) million versus $1.3 million. Cash and equivalents totaled $46.6 million at June 30, 2026, with no long-term debt.
Strategy
IZEA is executing an enterprise-first strategy, shifting toward larger enterprise customers while reducing reliance on non-core, lower-margin customers. In March 2026, it rebranded its proprietary platform as ZED, an AI-enabled platform building on IZEA Flex and the broader technology stack, used internally for campaign workflows, creator relationships, compliance, budget controls, and performance measurement. The company continues to invest in its team, including the appointment of Mark Wollney as Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations, and in ZED platform enhancements.
Risks
- Customer concentration — Revenue is concentrated among a limited number of customers, and the loss of or reduced spending by significant customers could materially reduce revenue.
- Macroeconomic and geopolitical conditions — Inflationary pressures, tariffs, supply-chain disruptions, and geopolitical instability including conflicts in Eastern Europe and the Middle East could reduce customer spending.
- Competition and operating variability — IZEA faces competition in the influencer marketing industry and variability in operating results, which can cause revenue and margins to fluctuate.
- Technology and AI integration — Risks include integration of artificial intelligence into operations, cybersecurity incidents or data security breaches, and dependence on open-source software.
Outlook
Management said the first half of 2026 unfolded largely as anticipated, with a challenging macroeconomic environment affecting client spending across several key industries. It noted that early third-quarter contract commitments have been encouraging, though market conditions may remain challenging and the timing of campaign launches may shift revenue recognition later in the year. Management believes these factors position IZEA for a stronger back half of the year and reinforce confidence in its long-term growth trajectory.
