Revenue drivers
- U.S. eCommerce — The largest reported channel, it sells directly to consumers on landsend.com; second quarter fiscal 2026 net revenue was $182.4 million, up 9.0% year over year and about 60% of total net revenue.
- Outfitters — Sells uniform and logo apparel to businesses and their employees and to student households through schools, mainly in the U.S.; second quarter fiscal 2026 net revenue was $69.3 million, up 4.4%.
- Third Party — Sells products directly to consumers on third-party marketplace websites; second quarter fiscal 2026 net revenue was $17.2 million, down 20.4% as the company prioritized higher-quality sales over promotional volume.
- Europe eCommerce — Sells primarily direct to consumers in Europe through international websites and third-party marketplaces; second quarter fiscal 2026 net revenue was $19.7 million, up 0.5%.
Recent performance
Second quarter fiscal 2026 net revenue was $302.0 million, up 2.7% from $294.1 million in the prior-year quarter. Gross profit rose 9.5% to $157.0 million as gross margin expanded about 320 basis points to 52.0%, helped by IEEPA tariff refunds and partly offset by JV royalty costs and warehouse system disruption. Selling and administrative expenses rose 5.9% to $135.3 million, or 44.8% of net revenue. Net income was $3.5 million, or $0.11 per diluted share, versus a net loss of $3.7 million and $0.12 loss per diluted share a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA fell 25% to $11.3 million.
Strategy
The company is executing a Pending WHP Transaction under which it would contribute its Lands' End intellectual property to a new entity, IPCo, and sell a 50% stake to WHP Global for $300 million in cash, with a closing deadline of October 26, 2026. After closing, Lands' End would license the brand back from the joint venture and would own 50% of IPCo units. Operationally, management is investing in digital marketing to acquire new customers and improving digital capabilities, while working through temporary disruption from its new warehouse management system. It is also prioritizing profitable, higher-quality sales in the Third Party channel rather than lower-value promotional volume.
Risks
- WHP transaction and brand control — The company would contribute its brand IP to a joint venture in which WHP Global holds a 50% controlling ownership stake, so brand strategy and licensing economics would be shared.
- Warehouse management system disruption — The rollout of the new warehouse management system temporarily disrupted operations in the first quarter of 2026, contributed to carryover shipments in the second quarter, and is affecting processing of value-added service products in the school uniform business.
- Third Party revenue decline — Third Party net revenue fell 20.4% year over year in the second quarter of fiscal 2026 as the company chose to prioritize profitable sales over lower-value promotional volume.
- Inventory build versus lean prior-year level — Inventories rose 13% year over year to $342.0 million at July 31, 2026, reflecting a normal seasonal build and revenue plans, compared with an intentionally lean position a year ago.
Outlook
Management says its focus is on execution to have the right infrastructure, technology and customer acquisition capabilities in place heading into the holiday season. It describes the company as well positioned and expects to share more in the months ahead. The company also faces an October 26, 2026 deadline to close the Pending WHP Transaction.
