from the latest 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K eventsLyra Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotechnology company that suspended development of its lead chronic rhinosinusitis implant LYR-210 in January 2026 and is now evaluating strategic alternatives while its shares trade under a Nasdaq delisting process.
What they do
Lyra historically developed bioabsorbable sinonasal implants delivering anti-inflammatory therapy for chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). Its lead candidate, LYR-210, delivered mometasone furoate over six months via an in-office procedure; a related candidate, LYR-220, used a larger implant. The company has no approved products and reported only collaboration revenue.
Revenue drivers
- Collaboration revenue — Essentially all reported revenue is collaboration revenue: $1.5 million in 2024 and $398,000 in 2025; no product sales exist.
Recent performance
Annual revenue fell from $1.5 million in 2024 to $398,000 in 2025, and quarterly collaboration revenue dropped from $183,000 in Q2 2025 to $25,000 in Q3 2025 and $7,000 in Q4 2025. Net loss narrowed to $28.9 million in 2025 from $93.4 million in 2024, with diluted EPS of -$18.62 versus -$71.75. Cash and equivalents were $15.9 million at December 31, 2025, versus $22.1 million at September 30, 2025 and $40.6 million at December 31, 2024. At year-end 2025, total liabilities of $46.8 million exceeded total assets of $36.1 million, leaving shareholders' equity at negative $10.7 million.
Strategy
The company announced in January 2026 that it suspended further development of LYR-210 and cut 25 employees, retaining its CEO and CFO as consultants to pursue strategic alternatives. Previously, after positive ENLIGHTEN 2 Phase 3 results in June 2025 and a September 2025 FDA meeting, it had planned a confirmatory Phase 3 trial to support an NDA for LYR-210 in CRS without nasal polyps. That plan depended on raising significant additional capital, and the company says there is no assurance that its strategic review will result in any transaction.
Risks
- Going concern and financing — The company states it may be unable to continue as a going concern and needs significant additional capital to fund a third Phase 3 trial of LYR-210, if ever.
- Nasdaq delisting — Nasdaq determined in February 2026 that Lyra is a public shell under Listing Rule 5101; the appeal was withdrawn, trading was suspended March 17, 2026, and a Form 25 delisting is pending.
- Strategic alternatives may fail — After suspending LYR-210 development, the company is evaluating strategic options with no assurance any transaction will be completed on attractive terms or at all.
- Clinical and regulatory uncertainty — ENLIGHTEN 1 failed its primary endpoint in May 2024, and the FDA confirmed an additional trial is required before an NDA for LYR-210 can be submitted.
Outlook
Management says it is pursuing strategic alternatives to maximize shareholder value with no set timetable and no assurance of a transaction. On the November 2025 earnings call, management said it was focused on preparing a confirmatory Phase 3 trial of LYR-210 for CRS without nasal polyps and expected cash to fund operations into the third quarter of 2026. That plan was overtaken by the January 2026 suspension of LYR-210 development and subsequent delisting process.
